Hello Boundlings! I am planning to reread some of my books next year and was going through my read list to plan out which ones I want to for sure reread. I came across a book that I can't remember despite reading it only 2 years ago 😅 I rated it well, 4/5 stars, and read my reviews and journal entry on it but cannot for the life of me actually remember what I read or what the book was really about.
In this case, what would you do? Would you reread it since it was rated decently and seemed to be enjoyable (based on my own words)? Or would you pass on it since it apparently wasn't memorable enough to remember?
Edited to add: OMG y'all, this didn't click in my brain when I made the post but.. the title is literally "The Forgotten Book" 😅

When reading a horror or thriller I love running to the forum to after a shocking moment to commiserate with other readers. The “spoiler” tag is necessary so no one gets a plot reveal at x%. However, in these genres I’ll find a lot of people using the “spoiler” tag at x% to try and guess the rest of the plot. I know guessing and figuring out the plot is one version of enjoying these reads. I’m not one of those people so sometimes I feel like opening up the spoiler tag actually spoils plot points ahead of me instead of where I read up too.
I wonder if there could be a “spoiler” tag and a “guesswork” tag? Because these feel different to me. For now I just avoid the forum until I’m done.

Taste is subjective, but the star rating system is supposed to communicate the average opinion of a book. However, the way we use the star rating system is also subjective. I’ve been wondering what other people mean when they give their ratings. So what do you think the different numbers of stars mean?
For me: 5 = Perfect 4 = Great 3 = Good 2 = Fine 1 = Bad 0 = Terrible
I’m curious whether this is about how others think or if folks have totally different rating systems in their heads.

I’m just looking for more people to follow who hold this belief. I recently made a comment on here on a quest that we as a community shouldn’t platform HP because of the harm JKR is doing to trans people like me and I’m being called a book burner for this when I never called for book burning. JKR enacts politically violence and has assaulted a trans woman (took upskirt photos of this woman) and I’m tired of being told I’m a book burner when I ask people not to platform for that. Her money she earns from HP is being used to hurt trans people like me. I just need other people to follow on here with the same beliefs because I’m tired and feeling ostracized in the book community for believing Trans lives matter more than a stupid book
