maeladapt's Book Journey

So I'm guessing the husband, Marjana's father, who is also some kind of monster/magical being (djinn?), who aparently got Asif - Dunya's father - killed, IS NOT DEAD? IS HE THE FRANK? 😱

I'm loving this mysterious adventure and all the crew members and their personalities! I've laughed out loud a couple of times already. Can't wait to find out what is really up with Dunya and this frank... The girl sounds so interesting and I think she really ran away from her grandmother who wants her to get married 😭 Anyway, hopefully nothing bad is about to happen in this island we're just arriving to 😃😃😃

Amina 'I Can Excuse Murder But I Draw the Line at Extramarital Sex' al-Sirafi

"let me be more direct: Do you wish me to relate what is to come—who is to come—as I knew them at the time? —Yes? Then if that is your choice, I shall continue . . ."

🤯 ... Is Dunya Jamal's deadname? OMG 🥹

Poor giant magical sea scorpion. You do not deserve the fate that you have been dealt.

That moment when Raksh said Falco had defeated it rather than bargaining, I felt for it. Yes I know the marid looks evil and is acting it but that is how it is being controlled.

The fact that I flew through this, is proof that I'm enjoying it so much!

Amina is hilarious! I love her interjections with the scribe! I know she will live because of the framing but the writing is good enough that I'm tense anyway! Damn you, Falco! She's such a beautiful mess!

Raksh has me rolling. He's trifling as hell but entertaining. I'm so frustrated with him being useless and deceptive but at the same time he's so entertaining that I still like when he's on page!

Falco can eat a dick. I'd say he's cartoonish but I've seen that current administration so he's realistic enough.

Sayidda is just like a rich person who's politics can be objectionable as possible as long as they don't affect her. I hate that she threatened Amina's family but I'm also glad because the plot is plotting 🤣

Dunya is a typical teenager who's gifted but no street smarts. I hope they make it out of this ok and get to live their life! But child, you possibly gave Falco tools to start the apocalypse!

raksh is such a useless fighter i’m crying why is he so funny 😭😭

Jamal 🥹🥹🥹 that little wonderful, sweet twist in the revelation of the scribe’s identity is so well-done and just splendidly beautiful to me

I love that Raksh was set up as a terrible, evil, powerful demon—perhaps even to be the main antagonist—only to actually be a deadbeat loser himbo 😂

Easy way to the island, no animal noises on the island, yes I'm sure these are perfectly good signs and nothing is wrong about this at all and also the ship that was bitten in half was just a coincidence and they will have a lovely time on their scouting tour 🫪
