i wonder why this book was chosen for a summer readalong haha. it's pretty grim but i guess it's to keep the choices diverse

I... really like Kennit? I mean he's clearly full of himself and an asshole but I like characters like him. I liked him from the first lines, he entertains me. I hope that's not an unpopular opinion lmao Wintrow is a cute boy that I simply want to protect, and considering Hobb's precedents (the Farseer Trilogy) I'm overcome with fear and dread for him. Hold fast baby, I hope I'm wrong, but either way I'm with you.

yes, you read that right! i assumed it would be more action packed from the blurb but it's an unexpectedly cozy and warm book

this is in no way a ranking of their writing, but for some reason jumping POVs in robin hobb's book is more of a smooth flow than in brandon sanderson's. i wonder why that is so

i have rewatched the show and i have completed the shadow and bone trilogy. i have read this book's first chapter and it seems to follow the stylistic choice of six of crows. excited!

Not sure exactly why I am doing this since I did not enjoy the one and only other Sally Rooney book I read. Let's see.

i don't know if i should continue. i might dnf it. it's not that it is bad, but i was looking out for comics to read after watching superman and this one did not hit the spot. and it's in black and white. and it's so...i just dont care about the characters' journey enough. rick feels like a mary sue
