I need to not rate books the moment I finish them because I originally rated 5/5 just because the ending was so solid but after thinking about it for a bit I changed it to 4/5. Still a great read though!

I'm 99% positive teenage me would've been OTP obsessed with Vin and Elend had I read this when I was younger.

Sanderson really knows how to tell an underdog story. Love Shallan’s determination and excited for Kaladin to finally get his moment…have to agree with Syl that his life in part 1 was difficult to witness

Just started! I took 4 years of Latin in high school so I'm already loving the use of Latin roots in the terminology and the cultural inspiration from the Romans

What an amazing woman I'm so glad her work was recognized. Her story is one that will stick with me.

ok, so Shallan's POV is kinda annoying me. She's one of my favorite characters, but her indecision and unwillingness to just confront stuff is getting on my last nerve. We could cut her plot in half if she just TALKED to people!

Brandon Sanderson is known for his "Sanderlanches" (etymology: portmanteau of "Sanderson" and "avalanche") which are his action-packed climaxes in his stories where all of the plotlines come together. I personally just finished my reread of Oathbringer and I think this sanderlanche may be my favourite one (yet). In less than two days I read some 500 pages because every single thread slowly coming together was just so captivating (not naming any specifics here as I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't read it yet). So what is everyone's favourite Sanderlanche (and why)?

It's so moving to read about a woman who cares so much about her country and its future that she is willing to fight so hard for it and risk losing everything

This place is so positive I feel too self-conscious to post anything negative about a book. Is that just me? Since the community is still growing it feels like a lot of spotlight on one negative opinion. I wouldn't mind posting a bad review on Goodreads but here I would feel bad 😅

Not gonna lie I'm struggling to get into this one and I'm not sure why. Coming off The Will of The Many I figured I'd be in the mood for some high fantasy, and the concepts are all good and interesting but I find myself stopping and putting it down every few paragraphs 🫤
