I got my masters in Fashion Studies and have a lot of recs!! Adorned in Dreams by Elizabeth Wilson is considered a must read in Fashion Studies. Thinking through Fashion : A Guide to Key Theorists by Agnes Rocamora is a good start for exploring fashion and theory. The Fashioned Body: Fashion, Dress, and Modern Social Theory by Joanne Entwistle is also super useful.
oh wow, thank you so much for all these recs! added!
your degree sounds so cool; is there a specific concentration you did, or is it just one big/general degree overall?
my program was split into two possible concentrations — either editorial or curatorial, and i was focused on curatorial :) other schools had other concentrations though! (like NYU offered a dual degree in fashion history and library studies, and FIT offered a conservation pathway)

oooh that's so interesting, thank you for sharing!!
Consumptive Chic: A History of Beauty, Fashion, and Disease would be a great book for this list!!

oooh thank you so much for the rec! I've added it!
This is such a good list!!

We gotta find a book that tells us about the kind of booty shorts fontaine would be wearing for his fencing duels
Paned👏 trunk👏hose👏
Empress of Fashion, Diana Vreeland's biography would fit well here!

that sounds so interesting, thank you! added
