digital dreams / questioning the corporeal

in which digital spaces and new technologies are used to access strange/surreal/absurd/dreamlike planes of being, raising questions around what it means to exist [in a human body] in our technological age. these books play with style and form in testing and questioning the limits of our humanity.

I haven't read the whole book yet but I feel like Dream Hotel might fit on this list? 👀

You might like The Speculative Reader's channel on youtube, he reviews a lot of slipstream/new wave scifi that tackles these same issues.

I am in love with this list! I can't wait to get ahold of some of these!

I would like to respectfully suggest State of Paradise by Laura van den Berg. I love this author and this was one of my favorite reads of 2025.

I have a feeling that I will find more for you if I browse my physical shelves.

i wonder if the employees would fit? i’m not 100% sure if it’s what you’re going for, it’s a bit futuristically sci-fi, and there are robots, but a lot of it is about what makes the humans, human, versus “humaoid.” this is an excellent list!!! also interesting in form
