Lists and glowing recommendations like these almost make me wish I had a longer commute so I could listen to these! Unfortunately, my ADHD is such that I just can't do audiobooks. My brain will insist that we do something while we listen, since our hands and eyes are free, then I will inevitably and suddenly realize that I haven't absorbed a single word for the last 20 minutes. The only way I can manage to pay attention is while I'm driving, but my commute is only 10-15min each way, even with traffic. These are real first world problems, I tell ya. 🫠

Oh my gosh, great list! I've listened to many of these and I really agree! May I recommend adding the Emily Wilde series? It's a whimsical story written with the frame of an academic's personal notes and the audiobook is not only excellent, but it improves the experience by including the footnotes without breaking the flow of reading. I always find footnotes in fiction quite difficult in text!
