Books about asexuality, be they non-fiction or novels. Everyone should read at least one asexual book from time to time.
Rep is usually the main character but sometimes side characters.

questioning whether or not im ace so thank you !!
It is definitely a spectrum, and I hope these books help!
If I have missed your favourite ace read, please let me know so I can add it!
There seems to be (anecdotally) a large percentage of Ace Pagebounders so this feels like the perfect list for us!
I love that more people know that this is a thing and it isn't just them feeling different than other folks.
ooh as an ace i don't read enough books with ace characters, thank you for making the list!
You are absolutely welcome!
Ooo thank you!! There's a bunch of these I haven't heard of!
Lots of these are on my TBR, and lots I can vouch for. Others are more newly on my radar.
Iâve never been so proud to have a good amount of overlap on a list 𫡠and I will make it my mission to turn it into an even higher number đ
Yay, I love giving people missions!
Nice list! I recommend these two additions:
Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger
Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex
(those are links!)
Both are already on there (and such good reads)!
Oh! Sorry! I missed hitting "view more" one last time!
No worries! I managed to make a super long list (happens often over here).
Oh my lord THANK YOU! This list looks amazing. Definitely adding tons of these to my tbr because I need more ace lit in my life!
Glad to help!
I needed this list. I love seeing ace rep! There is so many here that I hadn't seen
So happy you found the list!
I suggest
Anyone aware of any sex-positive ace rep from the list or otherwise?
Aka Iâll count demisexual or ace-uninterested-in-sex-but-unopposed-to-it-or-participates-in-some-circumstances etc.
Been interested in exploring the nuance.
Preference for:
The first to come to mind is Last First Kiss by Julian Winters.
May I recommend Firebreak by Nicole Kornher-Stace? It's on my TBR but (according to the author) the protagonist is aroace!
Not Good for Maidens is perfect for this list! The present-day main character is ace.
Thanks so much!
Choir grrrl is a newly released book that has an ace character!!
Omg I love the cover! Adding now.
Unless I missed it, I didnât see Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire on this list. Itâs book one in a YA fantasy series. The main character of book one is ace. There is other representation also trans and queer representation. I found the plot really unique! It follows characters who each find a door into their perfect world (different for each of them) and then they accidentally came back to our world. The characters want to get back to the world they felt more at home in. Theyâre seen as crazy by their families and sent to a boarding school for kids like them. Each book follows a different character. I wish Iâd found it as a kid because I definitely felt like I didnât âbelongâ.
It is on there, very near the end of the list (9th from the end, but you have to hit the view more button a few times to get there). I really enjoyed the first few books in this novella series when it came out and one of these days I will make the time to do a reread/continue on, because there are so many books in the series now.
Oh sorry I missed it! Iâve read the first 3 and I think itâs such a cute series.
Oh no worries! There's lots to scroll.
