Lemme know your Canadian favs so I can add them!

3

please add grey dog! horror written in nova scotia!

1

Done! Thanks so much for the recommendation!

2

I didn't see any Guy Gavriel Kay in the list. Tigana is my favourite, and a standalone, but Lions of Al-Rassan is also highly regarded.

1

Thank you! I have added Tigana!

2

Oh, wait, sorry - this list's parametres are "Canadian authors writing books set in Canada" so Tigana doesn't actually count. I'll check Kay's other books to see if there is one that fits.

1

idk if you wanna add tons of romance but Elsie silver and hannah bonam-young are both Canadian and their books are all set in Canada!

1

Awesome! I'm only adding one book per author, so which from each of them would you recommend makes that top cut?

1

from hannah bonam-young i'd say either out on a limb or people watching

from elsie silver, my fave is wild side!

1

Added! Thanks so much :D

1

Indian Horse by Richard Wagamse would fit this I believe! (I think I spelt his last name wrong but its one of my current reads if that helps)

1

I have another book by him, One Native Life, already on the list (gotta scroll way back for it) â˜ș

2

Oh, I didn't see it 🙈 i didn't even think to look for the authors name

1

Oh, no worries! I was just pretty sure I'd added something at some point and was happy my memory didn't fail me.

2

The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline is on my tbr

2

Added!

1

I finished it. I really liked it a lot.

2

The winter readalong book PB loved to hate, Three Holidays and a Wedding technically fits the brief. Also, Ayesha At Last by Uzma Jalaluddin.

The Hunger We Pass Down By Jen Sookfong Lee

The Jade Peony and All That Matters by Wayson Choy.

Also, I haven't seen a Farley Mowat title in forever and it warmed my heart.

2

Haven't read a FM since elementary school and that was about 3 decades ago... Added your recs! Thanks for sharing them.

I'm planning on just adding one book per author, so if you have discourse about which should be included, let me know!

1

The Take-down by Lily Chu! The couple are highly competitive geocachers so there's tons of scenes around Toronto.

1

Added!

1

Ellie K. Wilde is my favorite but her books are set in the US sigh

1

Sigh indeed. I get it, but yeah.

1

Calculating God is one of my all-time favs :)

1

I know there is already an Atwood on there somewhere, but I added the Heisey!

2
