butch4butch representation is difficult to find, and i’m constantly on the lookout for more, so i’m compiling the list—as slow growing as it may be. the goal in making this list is to highlight books where the main characters are confident in their masculinity and the main romance is butch4butch/masc4masc.
(i am aware this list is lacking in bipoc books as of now, and i am hoping to find many more. if you have any recs, i am gladly welcoming them.)

as i start to work through my shelf of potentials for this list, i’ve already encountered my first problem—no isbn number, so i’m using this comment to add more books (with their links) as i go to add more books since i can’t add them as of now. and since i’m already here, i’ll also include books that are butch4butch, but i’ve decided not to add for whatever reason. the uncrowned butch4butch books if you will. (if you’ve seen this comment before these burning stars was added, succumbing to inevitably by MJ Marlowe was moved to the actual list considering there are a variety of genres, so i will add a check your content warnings if you do not want to be surprised (/neg) with the contents if you are unfamiliar with dark or taboo romances)
These Burning Stars by Bethany Jacobs (confirmed by the author) i thought on this one for a couple weeks and i decided to not add it in the end. there are three romances that are happening at the same time which already puts this in murky waters with this list regarding page time and being the “main relationship”. despite each relationship getting about equal page time, i wasn’t satisfied with how the romantic arc of the butch4butch couple enough to justify putting on here. in the end, yes, butch4butch is here, but if you’re looking for a satisfying relationship ending for them, that will depend on how you look at it and i’m really conflicted on it.
The Girl That Can’t Get a Girlfriend by Mieri Hiranishi the butch4butch relationship doesn’t last, and this is more of an autobiography, though i think this is a really good one to read of the butch4butch experience.

Not sure if this fits exactly what you’re looking for since there’s technically no butch4butch endgame on the page but The Girl That Can’t Get a Girlfriend by Mieri Hiranishi is an autobiographical manga all about a butch who is desperately searching for a butch girlfriend! Its one of my all-time favorite mangas! Highly highly recommend!
