I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/ares (if they way, not pressure obviously). I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy). Try to find your country and join that thread! Everyone else?

I dfned this book because I found it insanely boring (which was a first for me). I then learned about the horrible things the author did. But now I'm not so sure of my decision... I love fantasy and it is a fantasy classic afterall... Should I try again? Or not waste my time insisting? I feel bad for dnfing but there is just so much out there that interests me a lot more...

This is my first time reading a retelling of a Greek myth and while I'm excited and intrigued, my first impression is that it's a little silly. I'm finding the first powers we're shown from these gods a bit hard to take seriously. Hopefully I'll get used to it cause I really want to like this book.

I normally try and stick to just reading 2 books at once (usually an audio and physical) but I started a buddy read and I need to slow down, and I now have a physical, audio, ebook, and the buddy read. I feel like a crazy person. Am I? 😶🌫️

We all want a never ending TBR and this is my way of trying to expand it! What are your favourite books that you rarely see anyone talk about? Books with only a few reviews so it feels like you are raving alone in a room, listening to your own echo. Give me books which you really loved that I’ve probably never seen on any social media platforms! 🫡🫡 Mine are definitely the Unholy Island series by Sarah Painter! Loved them so much!

I'm currently showing my partner Doctor Who for the first time and getting to really enjoy how Chris Eccleson's season nailed the balance of goofy to emotional while juggling such heavy themes. His Doctor did such a good job at being angry and full of grief while still finding all the light he can and I could really use that in today's world lmao I would loooove to hear anyones suggestions within any genre that feel similar. There's always Terry Pratchett, of course, but I'm hoping to hear some things I've not thought of!!

I found out about this site like an hour ago and thought I'd try it out! It's so cute and fun I'm really enjoying so far although I wish I could track reading progress like in storygraph haha looking forward to seeing how this site progresses and can't wait for an app!!

I usually have to fight against the urge to re-read my favourite books and it's always hard when the urge hits in the middle of my planned reads. I brought this up with a colleague recently, while I was explaining that I only give 5 stars to my Definitely Re-reading At Some Point Again, and she was so confused??? She said she's never re-read a book and I was shocked??? HAHA After I read Emily Henry's Funny Story, I was so excited to re-read it. I've re-read The Raven Cycle series every other year. I immediately re-read The Foxhole Court a week or two after I finished the first trilogy. It feels so good re-reading a favourite, it never gets old for me. 🥺💖

I usually read before bed. But I’m getting really excited reading (yay) and end up more wired, instead of relaxed. I’m trying for earlier nights. Any relaxing book recs? Yes, I’m essentially asking for bedtime stories lmao.

What is something you find underrated? In anything, books, genres, main/side characters, tropes, mini-tropes, writing style, plot-twist, etc...

Is it just me or is the sapphic subtext very quickly becoming text? Lissa and Rose's relationship is giving "is she my best friend or am I in love with her?"
