Not much productive to say. I just am hooked on this book. It’s definitely giving AC:Valhalla vibes, but more slice of life with a slow burn romance. The patience Cenric has and his respect for Brynn make him such a good lead. And Brynn? Amazing. Healing and trying to love for herself while still dealing with the death of her son and 6 horrible years with her first husband.
I’m really interested in where this book goes.

I want to love this book so bad, but I can’t. I’ve dnf’d this several times since last year. I enjoyed it at first, but then it felt like it was too much for my brain and too slow, which resulted in a DNF. I have picked it up SEVERAL times since then and it all ends with the same results. I’ve resulted to skimming just to finish it this time around.

DNF'd this one. 4 chapters in and not much happening isn't my cup of tea. 🙃

would anyone have any lighthearted romance recs?
i'm not looking for anything specific — just something light and cutesy to read through the holidays and to wind down my brain from school hehe it can be YA, contemporary, queer, seasonally-themed (like revolving around summer/halloween/christmas) :>

One of my reading goals for 2026 is to read more translated books. What are some underrated translated books that you love? I'm open to any genre. Just trying to branch out and explore different authors!

I’m in a reading slump and i was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations of books that cured their reading slump, preferably easy to read and short but not necessarily
Thanks ♡

I've started taking interest in classical books these days and Shakespeare turned out as good as everyone says, so I'm wondering what else is there that I'm not aware of?
İn Turkish I've read Namık Kemal's Vatan Yahut Silistre, and i LOVED it. But apart from other play names that i know bc of school, i have no idea what is out there.
So can you recommend me fun, short and comprehensible plays i can start with? (İ know about Dante's inferno, Iliad and the Odyssey. İ would really like other specific stuff that is not mainstream!)

I've seen a few different star rating charts and am working on mine and I'm curious how y'all go about deciding on your ratings?
This is my current system: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Loved, highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Liked, recommend ⭐⭐⭐ - Mid, might recommend ⭐⭐ - Disliked, won't recommend ⭐ - Hated, will actively go out of my way to tell people about how bad this book was because I can't get over the fact that it was published and that people like it and recommend it. There is hope for the rest of us wannabe authors.
