The only spoilers in this review are the emojis and you won’t get it h til you’ve finished the book.
I started this book last night, and thanks to the confining life sucking slums of grade 11, I had to wait until the next night to finish this book. In an ideal world with no school, I would have finished this in one delightful sitting.
I enjoyed this book a lot. It had an interesting plot and adorable romance. However, I was screaming at the lack of communication in both characters. Even so, the character development was phenomenal and I loved seeing how incredibly protective Adam is.
Would you like it? Well if you despise minimal communication and a very (very) grumpy mmc, this book is probably not for you. If you enjoy it when he’s darkness and she’s sunshine whom he will do anything to protect, you will love this.

This was great! And now I need to see the movie PRONTO (please find a distributor!!)
This is a very personal/relationship development heavy book and I think it was done wonderfully. There was no sharp turns for these characters when it comes to change, it was very quietly done but done in a way that you can notice this growth over time. Which is my favouriteeeee to read!
The romance. This is a closed door romance but please do not let that deter you from picking it up there’s no preachiness. These two have a lot to work out (Adam more than Persephone) and they’re given ample time to do it. I also love that Adam and Persephone are put into situations where you feel as a romance reader, you know where it's going to go, Buuuut it takes a really refreshing twist or something else happens and it's so nice to see.
The side characters are brilliant too. I cannot wait for Harry’s book, he was just a gem in this and absolutely hilarious.
This book was also FUNNY there’s bickering moments, sarcastic moments but a lot of sweet moments and for my girlies who love care taking moment you will be DELIGHTED.
Onto Harry’s!

I decided to read this book because of how much I love the 2019 movie adaptation. It is my comfort movie and I love how similar the movie is to the book. The movie is probably going to get different than the book later on with all the Laurie and Jo stuff but I am really enjoying it. It’s like every chapter is a mini story and as you move to the next chapter there’s a new story Louisa wanted to share.
