I don't hate this book (or maybe I do, I don't know yet). However, I didn't like it, it was boring as hell and the characters are just insufferable, and the writing, god, that I hated the most. I do understand the time this book was written had much influence in it, and "it's a classic", etc. I just refuse to read another Jane Austin book. I really don't care it's a classic and that Jane Austin's writing is "flawless", I didn't see/read/listen that, I was bored, it took me over two weeks to finish this, audiobook and physical book, it was so painful to read/listen and I have no idea how on earth I managed myself to finished it. I'm officially done with Jane Austin and classic books overall, they are not for me and this book was a waste of my valuable time.

I'm curious if anyone else has this problem, but I often find myself reading five or more books at once. Between library, audio, digital, and physical books, my currently reading list can get quite large. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by it, but the thought of only sticking with one book makes me worried about getting bored. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you combat it?

Fool the Half Blood kids once, shame on them. Fool them twice, also shame on them. Fool them three times and it's getting old and these kids are actually so dumb. Stop walking into *very obvious* traps! š

So I was thinking⦠is there any movie/tv show adaptation that in your opinion is BETTER than the book? š¤ I, for example, believe that the movie adaptation of The Virgin Suicides is way better than the book, and I love the book, but I feel like the movie did a better job capturing the Lisbon sisters, like, the director understood them better than the author of the book. šāāļø Do you think itās possible an adaptation is better than the source material? š«¢

I try to read for about 2 hours a day ā one hour for each of the two books Iām currently reading. šššš Lately though, I havenāt been reading at all because Iām in the middle of moving to a new place and things are hectic! š¦š But I have high hopes for the rest of the summer ā Iāll be by the sea š and Iām pretty sure Iāll be spending every quiet afternoon with a book (or two!) in hand. šš§š How about you? How many hours a day do you usually read ā and do you set a goal or just go with the flow? š¬āØ

My mom loves reading just as much as I do but English is not her first language and she really misses reading a good book in her native language Laos. There are not any ethnic bookstores in our area and the only place we can usually find books in Thai or Laotian is when we make a trip out to NYC. I considered getting her an e-reader but I have no idea where I would be able to download or purchase books written in Thai for her. Does anyone have any recommendations?

A curious question for the bookworms who are also gamers, TV enthusiasts or both! Where books have been adapted to or heavily influenced a video game or a TV series or film, what order do you prefer to consume them in? (Or even the other way, where series/film/games have influenced someone to write a book in that universe!)

I'm looking for recommendations of your favourite books set in non-English as official language countries (that was a complicated way to say not US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand). Any genre is welcome.
