Sometimes I'm in the mood for a good cry. I think the last book that made me cry was A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, which I was not expecting. I'm currently reading Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner, and I already know there will be tears.

do you use custom shelves on pagebound? if you do, how do you organize them? i'm very curious, as i haven't been using ANY this entire time and i kind of think i should... just because i think i want to categorize books better before i amass a ton and it becomes too daunting to sort. right now, i'm sort of thinking i conjure up a "TBR - high priority", then a "TBR- low priority", then "Finished - would recommend/reread", and a "Finished - wouldn't recommend/reread"? i dunno! just looking for ideas from the community :) of course it's all personal preference, but what do you guys do? do you include genres or anything?

I have this weird quirk where I'm extremely hesitant to read books that have been overhyped. Technically that's not the correct word. I meant a book that's insanely popular (even if its perfectly rated). I have no idea why but those books that become wildly famous on booktok or bookstagram or book*insert social media app* just lose their appeal to me, maybe cuz they lack that strange delight that creeps up when you personally discover a book that you know you're disposed to like. Its the major reason I haven't read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder even though I'm quite positive its a well written book. I also automatically not read a book if ive found out a spoiler. i sound so demanding š case in point: The Deathly Hallows. Yes, I hear your gasps. I'm sorry. But I found out too much about it and when I got the paperback I couldn't bring myself to read it š

Letās talk about reading habits! How do you make reading a regular part of your day? Do you have little rituals that get you in the mood to read, or tricks to stay motivated even when life gets busy? For me personally, I really enjoy reading once I get started ā I can get completely absorbed and read for hours. But honestly, the hardest part is actually starting instead of scrolling on my phone. š Iāve been trying to build a habit of reading every evening, maybe with a cosy cup of tea or hot chocolate, but Iām not sure how to make it stick. I often end up scrolling on my phone instead ... Iād love to hear from you: how do you stay motivated? Do you have special routines or rituals that help you read regularly? Any tips or advice would be so appreciated!

Am I the only one who's starting to get tired of books focusing more on sex and which one is more depraved? I'm a fan of Dark Romance, but most of the books are becoming unreadable, At least for me...I'm not saying I don't do any sex scenes, but nowadays it's the whole damn book....

No, I don't mean in a day. I mean, in a year. So basically, I've very recently realized that I don't read a lot of books outside of summer breaks and holidays. Throughout the whole year, I do a plethora of rereads but the only time I fulfill my short reading goal (because I only count books that are first time reads) is during the summer and then I have a whole lot of pressure to quickly find new books and then read them. Hence, the "short" reading goal, cuz otherwise I'll never be able to fulfill my annual aim lol. I suddenly realized this after joining Pagebound cuz I'm very active on here hehe and I discovered that I've completed a good part of my reading goal within only the past three months. The reason this is concerning is because I think it puts me at risk of going into a reading slump and I'm probably not able to digest the books I read properly cuz I'm always looking ahead for the next book. I think the Pagebound plan option is pretty helpful but I'm a mood reader so I never know which book I'll read next. Outside of summer, I somehow never get the time to start new books or it takes me ages to complete one if I do. Any tips??

Looking to read more of her books but which ones and when? I listened to Daisy Jones and the Six a couple of years ago and liked it a lot. Iāve got Carrie Soto, Atmosphere, and Seven Husbands on my tbr. Curious to know if anyone has thoughts on what to go with first? Also book vs audio? Got those Spotify hours to use! I sort of want to know what mood or vibes each gives off. Might help me decide.

Could you stop yourself from adding more books to your TBR for a specified amount of time? Maybe I could go a month without, if I avoid reading reviews? Or limit myself to adding one book a month and be really picky about it? I just have this existential dread about not being able to finish my list before I die and I feel like the only way I'd be able to get through it is to stop adding! š„²

I know classics are classics for a reason, but is there a classic book that everyone loves and that is considered this huge masterpiece, but you just couldn't get through it? It's happened to me a few times. I struggled with the Lord of the Rings trilogy for years before I was able to read it and enjoy it. I think I was too young when I first tried to. I still haven't been able to finish Jane Austen's Emma or F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. I don't know why, and I've tried many times for years. I've read other Austen books, but I struggle with Emma for some reason. I still want to try again with these books, maybe I just have to be in the right space for them to click with me haha.

Have ever returned a book back to the store because the cover was HIDEOUS? I have. The book itself is fun and I really enjoyed but every time I closed it... So I returned it and I bought it as an ebook.

ive noticed when you check someones library (god forbid a girl is nosy and sometimes wants to know how many more times they need to press View More š¤Ŗ), the TBR count is not public like in your own library. so, as the title suggests, what is your current TBR count? as an added chaotic element (provided you do not add any further books), how long would you estimate it would take you to complete? my current PB TBR is 404 and per my 2025 reading goal, it would take 8.4 years to complete š«

Personally, I really enjoy dual POV when itās a love story, it adds so much to the yearning and tension. If the main POV is from the female side, I especially love getting those little glimpses into the male perspective. That said, when a book goes beyond two POVs, it often feels overwhelming to me. I havenāt seen it done well very often, sometimes itās characters I donāt really care about, or perspectives that donāt feel necessary to the story. Curious how you all feel about this - do you prefer one perspective, dual, or a whole cast of voices? Bonus points if you can share a book where the number of POVs completely ruined the reading experience.

How do you all actually make progress on your TBR piles? The only way I can consistently make progress is by setting myself a rule that if I check out an audiobook it has to be from my TBR. (I can't cheat and add it right before listening!) I tend to reread my comfort books a lot and I tend to be a mood reader, so this helps me keep making progress as I listen to audiobooks on my way to and from work and while walking on the treadmill.

Hi! Unfortunately the fall and winter are just hard for me due to losses I have to live with, and Iām hoping to read some books where the characters are going through the same. It has helped me in the past :) Iām also looking to explore more genres but if you got romance with a grief subplot Iād love to hear it too!!

Just as the title says. I personally feel that I am a slow reader (my speed itself is fine) due to distractions (partly my brain's fault) and life just life-ing. On average, I feel it takes me close to 2 weeks to finish a good book. 3 weeks if I'm not that into it, but still determined to finish. If I buckle down and put the world on hold as much as I am able, I can finish a book in a week ish. I just download a book that is 600 pages. Books in the 400-600+ page range, I start booking our wedding venue, because this book and I are in it for the long haul!
