Is there anyone whose books you immediately pre-order before barely checking what they're about? For me it's: - Kristen Britain - Lucy Holland - Adrienne Young - Laini Taylor

Iāve started pre-selecting a monthly tbr for myself this year and with finding this wonderful community, Iām curious how other people pick the books theyād like to read during a month? Or if you donāt, how do you select what to read next? I try to pick a mix of books that have been on my tbr for a while and new books just to keep things different but series also cause a bit of an issue with that system š

Are you a mood reader or do you strictly abide by your TBR for the month?? I have a monthly and yearly tbr and I seldom follow it š I'm afraid I'm a notorious mood reader āš

Meaning, you canāt find it at any local bookstore or public library? I feel like this happens to me all the time. There are a lot of little gems on my list that once I find them, I feel so excited because Iāve had to search or wait for them for so long. Right now I canāt find: - Strange Fruit by Lillian Smith - The Iliac Crest by Cristina Rivera Garza - All These Sunken Souls: A Black Horror Anthology by Circe Moskowitz Iām curious about what other elusive books other people might be looking for šµļøāāļøš

it's been a long battle of book version versus movie version. i know it's not a new trend to turn books into movies, but more recently many of our loved books are being turned into movies. don't get me wrong, i like it when some of my favorite books have a movie adaptation (especially when done right). lately though, it seems like the movie industry is turning to creating movie adaptations of books left and right. are they just banking on the popularity of these books? did hollywood run out of ideas for movies? what are your thoughts on this? let's discuss!

I have Libby, Hoopla, & Spotify on top my owned eBooks and physical books. I'm deciding on another subscription but at the same time, how much is too much š

Hi there! <3 I found out about Page Bound yesterday and I'm having lots of fun! I looove, love strange horror novels (bonus points if they're sapphic), and I fell in love with books through magical realism, which I still love it to this day, so that's mostly what I read. Can't wait to be a bit more active around here šæš Oh, and if you have any good recs for sapphic horror books, feel free to write them down!

My Kindle broke (yes, I want to die) and Iām not buying another one right away. I also just bought Morning Star so I donāt want to buy another physical book. And I donāt really want to read any of the books I own rn because they are all fantasy and I feel like Iām still very much in the Red Rising world so I donāt think Iām going to enjoy a fantasy/scifi type of read at the moment as much. All this to say, that I have to read on my phone like when I was in high school while Iām waiting for Morning Star to arrive, and I donāt want to read a longer book because I guess I just think thatās kind of uncomfortable on my little phone screen? Anyway I donāt really have a lot of short books on my tbr so if you guys have any recommendations let me know!

Planned: rides, snacks, and a few pages while waiting in line. Actual: spinning teacups, screaming toddlers, and 3.5 pages of progress. Still brought the book. Still proud.

hello everyone! i was wondering if anyone has book recs with similar plot points to the series "FROM"? for anyone who hasn't seen it: it's a horror show centered in a town where people arrive but can't leave, and every night 'monsters' come out. it's one of my favorite shows so i'd love some books with a similar plot/vibe!

I've been challenging myself to read more books in translation (translated into english), so please drop all your recs!! The weirder the better tbh, I love stuff that's a little (or a lotta) bit unsettling or weird, but I'm generally open to any genre!

Do you consider yourselves harsh raters or overly generous ones? :) What's your rating system? I personally never go under 2 stars because if it's that bad I simply dnf. 2, I actively did not like it. Probably only finished it because it had some cool concept and I kept hoping it would fix itself before the end. 3 is okay. I don't have a massive issue about it, but it didn't grab me. 4, I liked it. It was good or really good (that's why we need half and 1/4 starts! Thanks Pagebound) with minor complaints. I feel like it's my most awarded rating 5, it was amazing/it made me FEEL THINGS. Either I had no issue whatsoever or I felt so emotionally involved I didn't mind them, regardless of the "quality" of the book

Do you ever read a terrible book, or one that frustrated you enough to give it 1-2 stars and get the urge to write a detailed review to blow off steam? I've done it a couple of times for terrible books, but if I'm critical of something I like doing it right. But my favorite thing to do in these scenarios is to put in all my skill in the English language to write a structured essay that my old English teachers would've been proud of, all so that I could hate on the book in peace.

Hello Pagebound team! Im really loving (and hyperfixating on) the site hehe!! I have some UX feedback and ideas - hope thatās okay. None of this is a criticism, obviously, just very excited about what youre doing! Iām a mobile user btw! -would love a back button, so I get to the previous landing page much easier (rather than jumping around different anchor links, or going back too far) -would love an optional pronoun field thatās separate to the bios! šāØ -it would be soooo handy if we could filter TBRs/all shelves (eg by genre, mood, etc) - Storygraph does this and this is one of the main reasons I use it -listing genres with books would be very helpful (and make the experience more accessible!) -Storygraph also have āmoodsā for books - I suppose this is similar to emojis (which i love! So cute and creative!), but the meaning is more objective/concrete. Iām a massive mood reader and itās sooo handy to find books based off of these moods. This is another main reason i use Storygraph! -Similarly, would be great to have community-added CWs (especially as someone who avoids certain subjects). (Another reason I still use Storygraph hahah - but would love to ditch in favour of Pagebound) -page numbers alongside books are also really valuable to me! Helps me decide whether i want to read a book (now or generally) -is there an option to update ur percentage privately/without adding thoughts? Itās quite motivating to see your progress, and would have me returning to the site (even more hahaha) -would love a DM option so we can speak to other users more in depth/more regularly without going to another app! -it would also be fun to ārecommend a bookā to another user - perhaps a button on the book page? And this get sent as a notif to said user? -when it comes to lists (my main Pagebound hyperfixation, omg), it would be great if we can edit the book order, and even add notes (eg disclaimers, further details) under each title. š«§šššŖ· Thank you for reading. I hope this is helpful (and would love to be involved if youāre ever looking for more testers lol). Again, having lots of fun on here and canāt waitnto see what else you do. Good luck!! Maya x
