As a kid I read Nancy Drew books like I was running out of time. I also loved books like the Gallagher series by Ally Carter. If you used to read these types of books yourself - what do you read now, as an adult?
I read fantasy books (sometimes sci-fi) and occasionally light spy / thriller stuff, but I'm still searching for the high that Nancy Drew used to give me 😂 I'm honestly still trying to figure out what my book taste is since I haven't been reading as much as I'd like for sometime now.

I’m over here loosing my freaking mind because I finally got my physical books after so many years of pining and wishing I got it😭 Books are super expensive in my country so I can only manage to read through kindle or netgalley so finally getting my hands on these physical copies are making me so happy🙂↕️🤭
I just wanted to gush about it here, does anyone ever feel the way I do? Getting physical copies and loosing your marbles in absolute happiness?????

I don't even know if it's a trope, but it's specific character dynamic. Move over enemies-to-lovers and rivals-to-lovers. I want teammates-to-lovers (name pending).
I want a story with a significant romantic subplot (or straight up a romance book) where the leads are working together and fall in love while doing so, I want a to see a relationship that starts from a place of trust and only build to be stronger. Think Kaz and Inej from Six of Crows or Yu Wayin and Xiahou Dan from How Dare You?! (sorry to bring in tv shows but they are THE blueprint), Emily and Wendel from Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries. Preferably fantasy, but not necessarily.
If there are any lists with this trope please send them my way, I don't even know what to look for. Thank you!

Lets all of us mention one book or more which we really dislike ( or hate) because it promotes something very toxic, lays out a very obviously wrong narrative. I am not talking about, 'this book was cringe and boring', I am talking about, 'the idea that was promoted in this book could be proved very dangerous if taken seriously.
A book that I genuinely dislike is Ugly love by collen hoover. This book has a male lead who has no sense of respect for the female lead, a female lead who has no sense of self respect and keeps on returning to that emotionally immature boy who cannot for the love of God get over his ex and handle his emotional baggage himself. I have read It ends with us and it starts with us. I disliked them both but my problem with them does not align with the topic of this post, they were not promoting abusive relationships (she does end up getting away from that abusive guy). Never read anything else by that author again, and never will.

I know this might have been asked before. But how do you go about completing/earning quest badges?
Do you hyper-focus on one quest and get ALL of the badges for that one.
Or do you join a bunch of them and kind of just wander about collecting badges as they come upon you out of nowhere when you happen to read that multiple of five you totally forgot was for a quest?!
Can you tell which one i am? 🤣🤣🤣
Or maybe you have a mixed approach?
Also have you ever joined a quest simply to collect badge(s) because you already read a bunch of the books, and you want the shiny, with zero intention of reading any others on the quest?

Most of us will know about Project Gutenberg and the free ebook downloads we can get from there. Anyone who has used it will also be aware that the site is massive. If you already know the book you're looking for, it's easy to get to. However, browsing on it can be a bit of a beast.
My favorite way to navigate the site is using the Reading Lists page. The books are arranged by topic, making it much easier for browsing. And if you find something you like and want to fall down a rabbit hole, you have a much better idea of what exactly you want to search for.
One of the best features of the Reading list is how it also features books in other languages. If you read in French, German, Italian, or Portuguese, there are dozens of reading lists there featuring books in those languages and subcategories of books you might find interesting.
Money is tight for many of us right now. If the book ferret in your head needs the thrill of finding new books on a budget, check out the Reading List page on Project Gutenberg and see what you find!

Pagebounders, I'm curious to know do you have any pre reading rituals? Something you do everytime to prepare for your reading time? I usually have to clean my glasses (they always end up dirty somehow?), get my water bottle (because I only drink water during the day if I have it right beside me) and if I'm in a mood for snacks I get one of two. 🙃 Tell me what's yours!

So I have been thinking about writing something, like a story, I do have a few ideas but I am not really sure if people would like to read them. I will write nevertheless because it's something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I will start with Wattpad. If anyone knows some other websites or apps for publishing stories, do let me know. Is it a good idea to start writing? I have no further plan to enter the official book universe, I for now want to share my own thoughts through what I write. I'll share links as soon as I gather my thoughts and post a few chapters. Thank you.
