Forced into unending sleep or perilous insomnia, repeating tedious daily routines until your body rots, watching as your skin starts to glow or your hands sprout scales—these novels feature illnesses that are far from typical.

Is anyone on the hunt for someone with a crazy high percentage of overlap with you? I’m not talking about the new users who haven’t logged all of their books that it shows you in the overlap category. I’m super excited to find someone who has logged all of their reads and has like a 50% or higher overlap with me!
I think so far my highest number I’ve found is 36% which is obviously really good, but I think it would be so awesome to find like your simpatico reading friend that just absolutely meshes with your book taste that much.
Obviously it’s very unlikely to stumble upon them, but I think of it as the same idea as having doppelgängers. They’re out there, even if you don’t see them. So there should be others out there who match really well with your reading journey!
**ETA: I’m getting some downvotes and I feel like people think I only want to follow people with similar taste which is not the case at all 😭 I like genres all over the board in both non-fiction and fiction. Most of my favorite PB users read awesome obscure and unique books from every walk of life.
I have over 400 books in my finished shelf and I just think it would be fun to find someone with a ton of read books in common. They don’t even have to like the books it would just be cool to talk about them. All I meant was that I like that PB has the overlap as a tool to get to know other readers better and give you the potential to make crazy cool book besties.**

What does it mean to waste time anyway? If you waste time is lost forever?
That's a good question. Is there such a thing as wasted time? We’re so used to thinking we always need to be productive that we tend to think we’re wasting time if we take a break, but those breaks are important too. Sometimes we just need to "waste" some time doing nothing, to slow down, and if that's what you need, then it's not a waste.
I’ve only read a few pages so far, but I really like how it mixes trivial things with the kinds of questions we’ve all asked ourselves, both as teenagers and as adults.

This was my first Japanese translated book and it was a sweet and easy read. Definitely felt like it couldve been a bit longer as i felt as though some parts were super rushed. I wasnt used to how straightforward it felt, but imagine it is because it's translated.
Overall, just a cozy and predictable story (not in a bad way). I'd recommend for a short read in between longer books.
