now i'm going to be hyperaware of every Agnes i find
please tell me when you do, I find it kinda funny how many there are 😂
I’ve read 3 of these within as many months 😅
this is EXACTLY why i felt compelled to make this lol. I read three of these in the last three weeks, and just started Uprooted last night where the FMC is called Agnieszka (or Agnes) and I stood there in my kitchen like ?? again ?!
Hehehehe the universe is tryingto yell you something /hj (i dont know what)
do I need to rename myself as Agnes?!
it's gotta be jordynreadsagnes now haha
perfect 😂it really rolls of the tongue
😧😳😶🌫️🤯🫣🤭🤔🫡🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨😵💫🤠‼️⁉️⁉️⁉️‼️ I think so
That is so funny! I read Innamorata, then right into Hamet, and I just finished The Once and Future Witches. Uprooted is on my TBR right now and I think I'm going to give Agnes a break haha
She’s been working too hard 😭 mine was innamorata into agnes aubert into agnes, we’re not murderers 😂
i was made aware of the list bc of the pagebound club post 😳 I don’t know if you take an agnes who stars with 2 other mmcs, but A Vow Made Twice by Emma Denny also has a beloved Agnes 👉👈 If you’re open to any new suggestions 🫡 no pressure or rush!
thanks i added it ☺️ love collecting agneses
omg u read my mind ive read so many agnes books recently. another one is nettle and bone t kingfisher!
Ahh it’s been so long since I read that! Adding 🙂↕️
yay!!! she’s technically not the main character i realize but what a great agnes :)
but still, why is she called agnes?!
Reading the comments, why is this happening to everyone?
someone in publishing has an agenda 🧐
This made me laugh out loud heheheh. And clearly so. I think we should track them down! Find out thw agnes behind them all ! Who is she…and what does she want?
not my middle name being the focus of this list, why are these authors so obsessed with my nameee 🤭
ok icon! you really left them with an impression!
Reading the comments, why is this happening to everyone?
Mine were all historical fiction/historical fantasy--maybe it's the historical version of my early 2000s grade school class having 6 girls named Abby 😂
I just searched “agnes” and oh my god theres so many
I haven’t read any of these, but could some be symbolism maybe? I associate agnes with lambs (agnus in latin) but apparently the feminine name comes from greek for pure! or maybe it just gives an old-school vibe haha
oh that is something I will think about when I see any more agnes’s! I think some are due to just being a popular name for the right time period, but also the symbolism is fun to think about!
LOL also Burial Rites by Hannah Kent has an Agnes 😂
I was weirded out when I read two books back to back with Cassie as a main character name (my name, and it doesn’t show up super often!)
the chances are low but never zero, as I’m finding 😂
This is such a fun list!!! ✨ Btw is it possible to add another title? I found another book with an Agnes as a protagonist! ✰ “Saving Agnes” by Rachel Cusk!
of course, we need the agneses to stick together!
Private Rites also has an Agnes FMC!
ooh thank you, i loved our wives under the sea so would love to read another by this author!
There's one called Agnes at the End of the World by Kelly McWilliams!
thanks :)
As promised!: (not a main character but still a very prominent side character) Gwen and Art Are Not in Love by Lex Croucher. All the Ever Afters by Danielle Teller, in which we get Cinderella's stepmother's (Agnes) backstory.
I added the second one! Want to look in the first one more since it’s a secondary character :)
Saw one today called Agnes Lives! by Hattie Elizabeth Newton and thought of you, lol
Oop ty, adding (Agnes lives, indeed!)
Working on book club selections for my IRL book club and I found another one and ran over here 😂 The Travelers by Regina Porter!
thank youuuuuuuuuu
