This list is typically focused on elderly protagonists that currently partake in crimes. I will consider books concerning elderly protagonists that committed crimes when they were younger and are dealing with the consequences later in life. Any and all crimes count, but preferential treatment is given to murder.

Oh oh my story fits this! "The Last Letters of Mrs. Victoria Holmwood" is about a woman in her 90s and I can't really say more without spoilers but it involves a sniper rifle and a time machine.

oh this sounds so fun!! not sure if “mary” by nat cassidy would count, shes just hit menopause so i think shes around 50 years old? i personally dont think thats very old but my mom became a grandmother around that age.
I’ll look into it and see how she’s portrayed! I always feel that elderly depends more on how they perceive themselves and less about their actual age. That probably comes from working in the medical field and seeing some objectively young folks who look decades older than my 74 year old father. Thanks for the rec!

In my head I’m always like books about 20 year olds murdering each other isn’t fun. That’s just a bloodbath. But the elderly??? They’re funny and sophisticated! Crime with a side of class!
