This is so cool! For a sort of historical book, there's "The Nuns of Saint Ambrogio", which I'm currently reading - it's about the scandals surrounding a 19th century convent in Rome, and it's sooo interesting. I'm not too far in yet, but there's a lot to unpack about this convent...

Maybe Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir? Harrowhark is a space nun of a necromantic order and has the title "Reverend Daughter"! I can't recall if she specifically wears a habit, but I'm sure a hood and possibly a veil are mentioned.

Vespertine by Maragaret Rogerson! The MC is a nun who deals with the dead so they don’t become vengeful spirits. But she ends up having to ally with a vengeful spirit to try to save her city!

I’ve read a good portion of these. Most of the rest on on my TBR. My favourite is for sure Scorched Grace, though an honourable mention has to go to Sisters of the Vast Black.
