I love romance, cozy mystery, and fantasy books! I try to add in books outside of my comfort core here and there, but usually go back to those three.

Getting to the point where I think I may not like the writing style of this book at all. Devney Perry is very much hit or miss for me, so this might fall into the miss column. Unfortunately, I kind of want to know what happens, so I may slog through the remaining 77% for the sake of my curiosity.

Someone tell me if it's worth it.

    i'm a bad fan lol

i want to finish this so bad because i love the lord of the rings and the hobbit but it's just so much information that i find myself zoning out as i listen to the audiobook and having to rewind so often i just like can't get my brain to focus on it. maybe it's because andy serkis's voice is too soothing lol

Did we go straight into watching the films after finishing? yes, yes, we did!

Also, the after bits of the book I actually had a deeper appreciation for considering the way things are today.

So in the fellowship its said that Tom Bombadill is older than everything, but then in the Two Towers Gandalf says a couple of times that Treebeard is the oldest of all living things?

Does anyone know if this a contradiction? Or is this explained somewhere that I missed?

So far enjoying it. Much easier to read than I thought it would be. The writing is lovely and engaging. One thing I am disliking a bit is the extremely long chapters, but I’m sticking with it! ☺️ it is a little discouraging seeing “time left in chapter 1 hour” at the top of my kobo😅

Unpopular opinion: I didn’t enjoy the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. 🤐

But.. I did like The Hobbit! So, I’m diving into the book. Plus, this edition includes the first chapter of The Fellowship of the Ring at the end… maybe it’ll even change my mind about LOTR. 😇

So don't come for me yet! 😉

I still am not very good at grasping what's important, but I'm very much enjoying Dan Stevens' audiobook performance!

    Interesting Book

I read this for part of a mystery book club. It was interesting to see the way each author writes their section. It was fun to hear which chapters/authors my book club liked as a lot of it seemed to be influenced by what we were all familiar with from previous reads! The mystery itself isn’t my favorite, but reading the thought process that each author put into their section was fun. It’s also fun that they only had the clues that were written previous to their own sections to try and figure out who the killer was. Definitely a different and interesting way for the book to come together.
