I typically have 4-5 books going at a time (not counting books I’m taking an extended break from) these are a mix of genres (I try to only read one book from a genre at a time to avoid confusion). I am very much a mood reader and I will never be able to wrap my head around only reading one book at a time (unless it is a VERY RARE occasion where I get so hyper focused on a book/series that I have to read the entire thing ASAP.)
Asking cause I got down to only 3 books and while I’m close to finishing all 3 I’m itching to add more to the roster. Also what is your process for picking new books to read at the same time?

"The system wrote my story. But I am the one holding the pen."
In this dystopian science fiction-y thriller, Marianne is a very analytical person. She logs her daily activities in her journal without fail. But, she starts to notice anomalies.
She sees changes in her daily life and in those around her. After a while, these changes start to become disturbing. It appears that the system craves perfection over everything else. So - what if you don't stack up?
Could Marianne herself become deprecated? Does she fit the mold or is she an outlier? Can she save herself before she's overwritten?
This book was -- weird! I just kept thinking that. But, not in a bad way. The old IT Help Desk, Systems Analyst/Administrator in me was gleeful. It's like a sci-fi analytical computer AI model playing out IRL!
Marianne is losing herself. She knows it, but she doesn't know why or how to stop it. You really feel for Marianne and want her to figure out how to save herself.
Marianne is a genius in figuring out how to even track what was going on. Taking advantage of loopholes that weren't meant to be taken advantage of was very Haymitch of her.
I'm still mulling on this one before I add star ratings to the apps - because it was really out there - so very different - that I can't wrap my mind around it.
If you're a Programmer, like The Net with Sandra Bullock or The Stepford Wives, you may like this book.

"So you're - deprecated?" Mara asks
"Even with optimal candidates, resistance will manifest," Voss explains. "It is not an error but a feature." (🤣 It's a feature, not a bug!! IYKYK 🤣)
