Does anybody else feel like authors have started some unspoken competition of who can have the slowest slow burn?
I don't need insta-love but I'm starting to get turned off of slow burn bc it is So Frickin Slooooooow.
Are you loving this "trend" or think it's getting a bit ridiculous?

This year marks Jane Austen's 250th anniversary.✨
I have no idea how or who can make quests but it would be really nice if someone could do that. Or something else?
I guess she doesn't have enough books to get to 15 😕 and that's why there isn't one yet? Maybe Austen inspired ones like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies could be added too?
Idk throwing ideas out there, would be nice to do/have something.
I'm currently rereading Emma and I might try to get through all her works in the next few months.

Do you know if people who collect high-valued special editions actually read them? Or are they keepsakes? I know some collectors of rare, valuable baseball cards keep them in protective cases and never touch them with ungloved hands.
I'm asking because I saw a collection that costs almost $2,500. Of course, some go even higher than that. I was thinking how terrible it would be to accidentally damage one of the pages. It seems like reading them would be so stressful. 😬🫣

In romance (or any genre that has a romance element) is it still considered insta-love if time is passing throughout the book? For example, weeks or months are passing by, but the story is traveling through it quickly, and people are falling for eachother. Or is it only insta-love if it’s been like a week or even at most a month?
🤦🏻♀️😖

I'm curious if people have little habits they have when they read books. Like for example, I used to always read the first and last sentences of a book before I would read. I eventually stopped as I had something spoiled for me (I had it coming). Also, when I buy a book, I already pick out a bookmark of my extensively large bookmark collection to match the book.

How often do you wait after finishing one book to start another? Does it change depending on format and/or genre?

"if she were stranded on a deserted island, which books would she most want to have with her?" I want to know, which book would you choose ?
For me right now, it'll probably be Le Petit Prince (Little Prince ?) by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Or a book on how to deal with being stranded on a deserted island 😂

What I just read (Lazlo’s introduction murder) needs standing fucking ovations. 👏 👏
Also, note to self…look up what blood thinners do to the body when there is a cut. 😮

Oh thank goodness. If this man tried to hit on Oakley wearing cargo pants, it would have been an immediate DTF.
ITS NOT OKAY TO SCARE YOUR READERS LIKE THAT.

What is your favorite Disney movie? What book retellings do you love the most associated with it?
I'm a huge fan of Disney movies and love reading retellings about them. I have read quite a few retellings throughout the years. Now I would like to learn about your favorites!
My own favorite Disney movie is a tie between Beauty and the Beast and Mulan!
Favorite retellings of Beauty and the Beast have been:
The Merchant's Daughter by Melanie Dickerson (part of the Hagenheim series) Abducted by a Prince by Olivia Drake (part of the Cinderella Sisterhood series) Bella and the Beast by Olivia Drake (also part of the Cinderella Sisterhood series)
Favorite for Mulan have been
Reflection by Elizabeth Lim (from the Twisted Tales series) The Warrior Maiden by Melanie Dickerson (part of the Hagenheim series)
