I was talking about this earlier with an acquaintance and she considers hardcovers fragile and paperbacks she can just throw in her bag without really worrying about it. With me, Iâm always worried my paperbacks will tear to the point where I donât let anyone else read it. If I can, I try to get the hardcover of the books I know Iâll reread a lot so it lasts longer. Now Iâm wondering what other people think.

Soooo, whatâs everyoneâs reading preference when they travel or go on vacation? Physical book, kindle/e-reader, or audiobook?
Personally, Iâm a kindle girlie when Iâm on vacation. As much as I love a physical book, sometimes theyâre too bulky to pack, or I just donât want to mess up my book lol

I wait at least a day usually. đ I need to let things settle in my brain.
Also, because I mainly read at night, I'm old (turned 39 recently lol), and only write reviews on my laptop.

While I was browsing the top light novels list on Amazon earlier, I noticed a few giving off AI vibes. Iâve also noticed some AI books here as well, so I was wondering if anyone has. Iâll see a book thatâs obviously AI, check out the author, and usually they have like 10 books all written and published in 2025.
I guess my question is, has anyone read an AI book to find out later it was AI? And if you could tell it was? I donât have any interest in checking it out, but I always wonder if I might have accidentally read one already seeing as theyâve infiltrated so many genres and spaces.

Have you lent a book and never gotten it back? Did you forget to ask? Did they just love it so much you gave it away? Did you have to fight for it back? Were you the guilty party who kept the book?
So many possibilities. I have only once gotten back a book I've lent.
In highschool, when twilight came out, I was all about it. I was the nerd who took it to school and was reading it inbetween classes. A friend of mine (or so I thought (Joanna)) asked to borrow it, I said of course! I was excited to share something I loved. A couple of weeks go by and she hasnt mentioned if she was team Ed or Jacob (team Ed myself) and so I asked "did you like twilight?" She acted confused "what do you mean, I've never read it". Well okay then Jo, I was a little upset but whatever, I asked for it back since she didnt want to read it but she insisted I never lent it to her!
So like any completely emotionally stable 13yr old... I went crying to my mummy that I wanted my book back. My mummy took me to her house and talked to her mum, who made Jo give it back. Take that!!! She had even written her name in the front page, the gotdam audacity of this girl. Anyway I got my book back and she didnt speak to me anymore, win/win.
Now I only lend books that I'm happy possibly not getting back. What's your story?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who seems to be more of a 'book collector' at times rather than a reader.
As my collection grows, I stare at my shelves and realise how little of my physical TBR I've read. But I'm such a mood reader, that things like TBR jars don't work on me because I'll ignore them completely and go for what I feel like anyway.
Does anyone have any tips to combat this and push through the books you own?

I've been having fun going through @catbitesback 's post least bookish hobbies? & trying to think of links to books/reading
Start at your non bookish / reading hobbies, & try to reach your reading in the fewest steps of association possible (either eye or ear reading) You could also comment hobbies you can't find a path for, to crowd source links!
A few of mine as examples:
Crochet â I read audiobooks & eye books as I crochet & I'm currently making cover tiles of my dog's favourite books so he can bring them to people to ask for them to be played for/read to him. (Solving the issue of no one else being able to find out which he wants when I'm not around) =1 link
Foraging â reading about foragable foods, materials & recipes. Those local to my area & also further afield. =1 link
Needle Felting â one of my first projects was making a mouse from the show Bagpuss â there are multiple accompanying books that, now I know they exist, I want to read because they look adorable. =2 links
Wild Swimming â It's Not That Radical by Mikaela Loach features wild swimming =1 link
I'm struggling to think of other examples of mine that are more than 1 or different kinds of connection, so I'll leave it there for now. Go forth & link fellow Boundlings!

Hi!
What do you do when you listen to audiobooks?
Iâm trying to find different things to do that donât take me out of the story. Usually Iâll busy myself with cleaning, working, getting reading etc. but I want something to do when Iâm in bed or sitting on the couch.
Let me know what you do! Thank you!đđ«¶đœ

I mainly borrow books on Libby, but lately Iâve been wanting to grow my collection a bit more and annotate on my physical books themselves instead of in a separate notebook.
Wondering if anyone has some creative suggestions for making/utilizing space when floor space is quite limited at home. We have a cubby-like shelf that has a few spots that could be cleaned out to house some books, but other than that we donât really have any more space on the floor for a bookshelf (could maybeeee squeeze in a couple wall shelves though). Help pls!

Would you rate all your favourite books 5 stars, or can they be favourites but in the 4 star realm?
I just started reading a book by T.Kingfisher and realised that she's become one of my go-to, favourite authors, and I absolutely love Paladin's Grace series (to the point that I cannot make myself read the last one, because then I won't have anything to look forward to) - but I didn't give it 5 stars when I first read it and I'm not sure I would now.
I'm fully at peace with this, but it did make me wonder - are all your favourites 5 stars, are all 5 stars your favourites?
