Allow me to set the scene:
Itās 2 AM on a school night but you only have 100 pages left. You will power through. Forget the math test you have first period. This is your priority. And you must know how the book ends.
I donāt know what sort of millennial catnip these 2000s YA authors put in these books, but let me tell you, my ābaby millennialā self was addicted.
Pagebound Millennials: what YA were you reading?

The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot has my tweenage self in a CHOKEHOLD omgggg

Same here. Honestly one of my absolute favourites.
I need this to be a quest!!!
You should totally add Marked by PC Cast and Kristin Cast and Evermore by Alyson Noel!
AAAA Marked and the whole series of House of the Night by PC Cast doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I was obsessed with it as a teenager.

Added! š¤
This is AMAZING and unlocked so many memories. I was obsessed with Evermore by Alyson Noel too!

Added! š
Same, I loved Evermore series in high school.
What a trip down memory lane this list was.
Truly! I feel like I need to schedule a nostalgia month for myself this year and just read a bunch of the books I loved in high school
I did that once when I was in a reading slump post college. It was so much fun.
I don't know if anyone here read the Hex Hall trilogy by Rachel Hawkins. Buddy read it with my classmates when I was 14. Loved every second of it.
Lmao iconic thank you
Iām going to have to go through this list to make me feel like Iām back in the 2000s because itās like missed opportunities. š
seeing blue bloods on this list has my millennial heart doing backflips šš„¹
maximum ride will forever haunt me
same š©š© and patterson released another book in 2020 like sir??? hello???
I've barely read a few of these... Clearly my teenage years could've been better š¤£
I only read a few too! But I feel it's a testament to interests lol. I mean my shelves had RL Stine lining them instead.
You are so funny for this š Honestly round of applause.
OMG this list is so accurate š I've never seen The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie or The Year of the Secret Assignments on a list like this before! I was so obsessed with that series as a teenager.
maximum ride was my absolute FAVORITE series when i was little and i cannot bring myself to reread it cause im so afraid it wonāt hold up. iād rather remember it for what it was to me then
Oh oh also Every Day by David Levithan
lmao all the ones I read from this, except Perks of Being A Wallflower which my english class read, I read as a fully grown mid 30s adult. šš
