NO WAY PERFECT 😌✨️ I was actively looking for more sci-fi after loving Project Hail Mary (it's not the genre i usually read even if i occasionally watch sci-fi movies). I saw The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet in my bookshop and was considering getting it, but do you have a favourite in the list that you would recommend for me to read first??
I read Small Angry Planet quite awhile ago, but I think it’s a great starting point! I know Becky Chambers has been cited often as being a big contributing author to cozy science fiction!

WAIT Space Opera fits this list a quiter book?? I have been intrigued by the premise of it in the past, but I'm not a heavy scifi reader, so seeing it here makes me even more intrigued yup
When I was deep diving the genre it kept coming up for me! Full disclosure, I have NOT read it. So if anyone has or does, and finds it is not a good fit, please let me know!
Outcast by Keri Arthur? Starts with City of Light. Definitely has the “found family” element.
I’m not familiar with this series but I just did a mini deep dive, and it sounds AMAZING, I’m just not picking up “cozy” vibes. It sounds more dystopian supernatural/science fiction? Thoughts?
It is weird, not really dystopian though. Post war, so maybe post apocalyptic? Sci-fi for sure, sorta fantasy too, with the CUTEST found family. (I reread it from time to time just for Cat and Bear. 🥰). With a mystery. A BIG mystery that takes 3 books to figure out. Not strictly cozy though, no. But, I think it has elements, but it’s got higher stakes than a usual cozy. There are definitely, “Oh, this is going to go horribly wrong!” moments.
Other than Innkeeper (which you already have), it’s the closest I could think of.
I may need to tackle it for myself, it really does sound good! I loveeeee a good mystery!
