authors who express pro ai opinions or use ai for covers, promo or writing
a link to a doc with details on each author is in the comments

Sydney Faith has a YT channel where she has videos like What I learned writing a book with ChatGPT 🤡 I found it by accident bc I was interested in her book Revenge of the Druid Queen and she has videos of chapters from the book with ai generated voice and images 😮💨
A little note: I will only add authors who admitted to using AI, accidentally revealed it (eg prompt left in text) or used it for promo or cover art. I won’t add books where it is merely suspected because what we are NOT going to do is start a witch hunt!
Additionally, if you want to know the context, you can find the details on each author here
In case you are wondering why is AI even bad, kathytrithardt put together a list of nonfiction books about AI here
really appreciate this list and that you’re not just working off assumptions here!
I couldn't find SE Harmon in the doc but there's a book of theirs in the list. Do you have more details pretty please? I love their work so I'm curious. I can accept (even if I disagree) playing around with art prompts to illustrate characters after a book is written, but using AI to actually "help" in writing or using it to make a cover is another level I don't want to support.

Ah yes, I haven’t gotten around to updating the list in a bit😅 The Cover of The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer appears to be AI generated just purely off visuals and because SE Harmon themself is credited for creating the cover. Since none of their other covers are even remotely in the same style it seems unlikely this could be human made digital art, so either AI or a human artist who isn’t being given credit
Ok so I checked the book because this was bugging me. The copyright page says the cover art was made by the author. I think having this author in the list only because we think they used AI is unfair to them. They branched out, tried a new style and to make their own cover instead of paying for one. Covers are really expensive and a lot of indie authors make their own. I'm not saying you're wrong because again, I don't know, but you said yourself that this isn't a witch hunt and I don't think a change of cover style is proof enough of an author's wrongdoing, you know what I mean?
Thank you for you reply. To be fair to the author, The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer is very different from the author's other works so the change of style makes sense in that case. They also used to be trad published. They got their rights back and finished publishing series as an indie author but kept the same cover artist for those instead of rebranding the whole series.
Not to say they didn't use AI, I have no idea if they did or not, but I think it's fair to also give another potential explanation to why the art style is different.

You’re totally right! I am actually trying to find why I added their book beyond suspicion and indication, since I want to specifically avoid adding books on mere suspicion, but all I can find is another user made list on which they are being accused of using AI.
Since I added it a while ago, I assume I originally intended to add it to a private bookshelf of mine, where I keep track of suspected AI users to check in now and again to see if anything changed or came out, but added it to the public main list by mistake
Thanks for pointing out my slip up, I’ll adjust accordingly and remove the book for now since I do agree that mere suspicion will only do damage in the long run :)
Thank you. I really appreciate that we could have this discussion without anyone's feelings getting hurt. It's so hard to naviagate the use of AI right now.
Love seeing 0% overlap with what I've read so far 🙏 ty for making this list, and I pray that no one will have to be added to it
thank you for making this list! I usually can tell when something was done with ai but it's good to have a list to check
these are good to know, so that i can never read their work. fuck ai.
The little bit of pride I felt when I saw “0% overlap” hehe
Such a flex 💪💪 I intend to keep it that way
You should add Magnolia Parks on here. The author used AI for fanart of her character and posted it on Instagram (I’m pretty sure it’s deleted now though)
The author has also spoken openly about using chatgpt for research in her writing process, tho I'm not sure if she has ever actually copy-pasted from it into her books.
Believe author of Sympathy Tower Tokyo admitted to (and is being praised for) her use of AI

She did, added!
Thank you so much for this! I will be checking this constantly to avoid these "authors"
This is so embarrassing for them, iugh!!
You’re awesome for compiling this list.
incredible thank you so much for creating this list!!!
Thanks for looking out! There's also a bunch more on this shelf.
Thank you for doing this! It’s so hard to tell any more
it's so disappointing that this is even a thing. 💔 thank you for making this!
Ugh, I hate how much it makes sense that Andy Weir is into Gen AI. Think I'll donate my copy of "Hail Mary" to the library or something instead of reading it.
It’s so annoying, I’m reading Hail Mary rn too when I came across the interview. He doesn’t seem to be full on loving AI but of the opinion that human artists will be replaced by AI and that’s fine with him (probably cuz he already made it so it doesnt matter to him….) because AI will be better at it anyway
Yeah, I went to an in-person event with Andy Weir around when his book Artemis was coming out, and man. He was completely clueless about women in the interview, so it makes sense that he's also fallen for Gen AI. Completely average well-off white dude connected to the tech sector, unfortunately!
I’ve never been happier to have a 0% overlap. Thank you for making this list!
Oh, nice! I have a shelf for this. I will be comparing to stay current. Thank you 😊
Thank you for working on this list! My tbr is already long enough without AI scum.
Jessa Pack (who is also using Rhonda Amanda also) has used Ai to write her books and has left the evidence in the book (she doesn’t edit the books). Has tried to get the Goodreads remove the reviews who have shown where the Ai prompts are at (page 60 of Knot My Pack)
Here’s a few authors I’m aware of that either admit to using generative ai or are basically ai pen names:
Callie Stevens Kira Cole Cara Wylde Layla Fae Adrian Blue Scarlett K Wild Aimee Easterling Rose James Walker Price Alexis S Praks Ellis Worth Jesse Pack Cassandra Gannon Layla Moran SR Meadows Celeste King Raven Merlot

damn, it always depresses me just how many there are, thank you. i’ll go through them and add the books soon
Appreciate your list so much thank you!
Thank you for this list! I haven't realised that it was such a big thing.
Ah, eff. Well, this teaches me to not be sucked in by a pretty edition. I bought the Goldsboro edition of Femme Feral. After digging (thanks to this list!), I am very sad I gave the author my money 🤡
Reading the femme feral arc I had and googled the author after seeing the pro AI slant to it. It's so disappointing! I wonder if pagebound would let us add flairs or tags to a book's page eventually since the founders seem to be equally against AI
Anna Price, left an AI prompt in the first book of her reverse harem series, Silverveil Academy. Also all books published under Cobalt Fairy, Regal Quill Publishing, and recent Starfall Publications (Fanny Finch, Barbara Bard).
Not sure if this is relevant here but Daniel H. Pink posted on Facebook this morning with prompts to use with AI to “learn more about yourself” 😡
Olga Tokarczuk admitted to using AI for her latest novel. She later admitted that she used it for research and fact-checking and not writing, but she admitted to using it nonetheless. I read from the article, but there are multiple outlets that reported on it.
