Oh gotcha yeah, just read that and enjoyed it! The magic system was lovely. I'm reading the sequel now and then I'll gather my thoughts when I'm finished.

Probably too young for this list but couldn't scroll past without mentioning The Two Princesses of Bamarre. I read it as a girl and it stuck with me 🥹

The Night Hunter by Natalie Moss is a thriller that focuses on a difficult sister relationship. I read an arc, but it could be a good one to add for when it is released in a few months 🤗
Also, Private Rites by Julia Armfield is about sisters (though I havent read it yet, it's on my tbr 🖤)

I love this 💞 I can try to remember to check back after finishing (I’m only around 20% through), but I just had a moment of admiring how differing familial memories between sisters are depicted in Faebound by Saara El-Arifi. As far as I can tell, the whole book toggles between the sisters’ perspectives

Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey. It’s a fantasy-noir novel with twin sisters where one sister has magic and the other doesn’t. The non magic sister tries to solve a murder committed at the other sister’s job which is a magical school.

Saltcrop by Yume Kitasei is a near-future sci-fi focusing on the relationships between three sisters!
Did you enjoy it? I’ve read another by this author and the ending fell through a bit for me so I’m not sure if to give them another shot or not
Yes! I've read all of Kitasei's books and Saltcrop is my favorite. I think she's gotten better with each publication. Though I will say that I think the plots are the weakest aspect of her writing. I primarily liked Saltcrop for the character and relationship development and not necessarily the plot, though imo it's a lot better than The Deep Sky. If you're a reader who prefers plot-driven books over character-driven, she may not be the author for you (as far as I can tell from 3 books).
This is so helpful! I lean plot driven for sure. I liked a certain 🐙 from her book but the plot was really struggling at the end for me. I might give it a chance when I’m in the mood.
One of the protagonists in Make Room for Love by Darcy Liao is grieving the death of her older sister that happened a couple years prior. There's also a plot arc where she's mending her relationship with her younger sister. Although the sister relationships are not the primary plot tbh. Thought I'd mention it as a consideration 🙂
