These are books that don't rush to impress you. They simmer while the author adds in the layers. They may confuse you or bore you at first - but if you give them time to cook you'll end up with a delicious meal of a book!
Always taking recommendations! If you are recommending a series - the layers need to come together by the end of the first book (not half way through the series).

I love this concept so much haha - literary lasagna is so fun and absolutely genius! I think the goblin emperor by Katherine Addison and mad sisters of Esi by Tashan Mehta would fit if youâre open to suggestions; both start off confusing, almost deliberately so, but eventually the pasta layers come together and it is some delicious lasagna đââď¸

another suggestion if you're open to it: Flyaway by Kathleen Jennings! It starts super confusing but a big part of the underlying plot throughline is figuring out what's actually going on!!

what a fun, original list idea! obviously feel free to add whatever, but for me personally, Martyr! (Akbar), Gentleman in Moscow (Towles), and The Master and Margarita (Bulgakov) are all recent âsimmerâ reads that started slow but by the end I was like, âWhat? No pls it canât be over already :((â

So maybe I donât understand what you mean by âlet them cookâ but I feel like Nana by Zola would fit this list. It is technically part of a series but can definitely be read as a standalone so would it be okay ? I really find this list amazing !

can I rec Toni Morrisonâs Paradise for being one of the most dense, complex, layered and fascinating books Iâve ever read idk if youâd call it a lasagna tho is itâs more like sedimentary rock. less food more cliff face.

after seeing this list from the quest nominations again I remembered a book that would fit quite well: "Land" by Maggie O'Farrell The pace is pretty slow and it really takes time to build up for the emotional crisis that is the end. đ

the remains of the day NEEDS to be on here. i read it for english class and i was so bored all the way to page 80-ish. i don't even know when i started liking it; all i know is that i was sobbing by the last few chapters.
Love it, lasagna books! May I recommend The Bee Sting by Paul Murray? It's baked slow and the ending dish is to die for
I think Song of Solomon by Toni Morrisois definitely a lasagna book that I recommend you add! And I love how unique this list is :)
